Kagoshima’s distillery/brewery launches Terrine au Chocolat made with shochu, sake
DAIYAME Terrine au Chocolat
Shochu.Life, the online store of Hamada Shuzo Group, is currently accepting reservations for the DAIYAME Terrine au Chocolat Set and Sasshu Masamune Terrine au Chocolat Set.
DAIYAME Terrine au Chocolat is made with the company’s sweet potato shochu, DAIYAME. The shochu is kneaded into the chocolate with eggs and sugar and baked “to make the shochu and chocolate flavors intense.” It is made by Patisserie Yanagimura, Kagoshima City. “Last year, we introduced this product for the first time and received many positive reviews, so we decided to offer it again this year just in time for Valentine’s Day,” said Shuro Kawano, the company’s public relations manager.
This year, the company has also launched a new product, a Terrine au Chocolat made with Sasshu Masamune, a sake from its Satsuma Kinzangura Brewery. It also includes matcha green tea from Chiran and azuki beans. The company also decided to offer each terrine wrapped in either shochu- or sake-soaked bamboo leaves. In the case of DAIYAME, the company describes, “The moment you take a bite, you will notice the distinctive lychee-like aroma of the shochu.”
Each set includes a Terrine au Chocolat (contains alcohol) and a bottle of shochu or sake (720ml). Available only at the company’s online store.
The price is 4,400 yen for the DAIYAME Terrine au Chocolat Set and 4,580 yen for the Sasshu Masamune Terrine au Chocolat Set. Orders placed by February 9 will be delivered on Valentine’s Day.
