On March 1, Thanks Lab – Kagoshima Office, a Type A Continuous Employment Support Office, opened near Korimoto Station on the Kagoshima City Tram.
The office is managed by Thanks Lab, a company based in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, that operates an Internet business and welfare programs for people with disabilities under the cencept of “IT x Welfare.” While conducting IT business such as smartphone games, applications, and online games, the company also provides employment opportunities through support and maintenance work for online services and various data entry tasks. The company has 14 offices in the Okinawa, Kyushu, and Chugoku areas, and this is the first one to open in Kagoshima.
The brightly lit office on the fifth floor of the building is lined with laptop computers for users, and the desks of support staff and advisors are located nearby. In addition to performing support tasks, users can learn business e-mail communication, routine data entry tasks, and other computer skills from the staff, allowing them to enhance their business skills.
Kikuchi, the office manager, says, “We provide training and guidance tailored to the characteristics of each individual’s disability.” “We want to make this a place where they can gain not only computer skills, but also experience in forming relationships with others through communication. Our goal is to help them improve their skills to the point where they will eventually be able to play an active role as a member of a company,” he added.
Opening hours: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Capacity is for 20 people. The office is currently accepting applications, and tours are available on request.
