On April 6, a pre-opening preview took place at Cen Terrace Tenmonkan, a large-scale commercial building in Tenmonkan, Kagoshima City.

The commercial complex is a redevelopment project on the former site of Takapura shopping mall, which closed in February 2018. Many people with invitations attended the preview, which was held in preparation for the official opening on April 9. The complex is a 15-story building. At the preview, some parts of the building were introduced to the visitors, including the commercial areas, located on the first through third floors, and the Kagoshima City-run Temmonkan Library, on the fourth and fifth floors. The sixth floor will house a hall, and the seventh and upper floors will house the Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kagoshima Temmonkan and restaurants.

The commercial area will feature 71 stores, including Coca, a fast-fashion for adults; Mulawear, a yoga wear store; Eggs ‘n Things, a café serving pancakes and other Hawaiian food; and Ken’s Café Tokyo, a café specializing in Gâteau au Chocolat. Some stores are the first in Kagoshima and Kyushu.

The Tenmonkan Library holds approximately 40,000 books and divides its space into four concepts: Growing, Living, Working, and Creating. A portion of the library’s seats can be reserved, and books will be available for checkout starting April 9. The café Brew will be located in the center of the fourth floor and will offer takeout to the library.

A Kagoshima City tourist information center has been open on the first floor since April 1.
