On April 1, Kids Connect Hopchil, a multifunctional child development support and after-school daycare service center, opened in Tagami, Kagoshima City.

KIDSPROJECT. Inc. operates the facility. Kaito Kitakata, the president, is a performance artist working under the name “K@ITO.” He engages in stage shows such as juggling, magic, and light performances, along with collaborative shows with other performers. In 2018, he expanded his activities into the field of child welfare and also manages Cha Cha Cha Kids Daycare Center in Toso.

The name “Hopchil” is a coined word combining “Hope” and “Hop” with “Children.” It expresses that the facility is just one step away from children and their families. With a staff of seven, it can accommodate up to ten children per day.

Kitakata says: “We support children’s curiosity and discovery through physical and creative activities using juggling, balloons, and magic. We will invite artists, instructors, and performers from various fields as their instructors and plan events that will thrill the children.”
