Three months have passed since My Lily, a store specializing in baked goods and cakes, opened in Aira City, Kagoshima Prefecture.

Miyabi Nagata, the owner, is from Kanagawa Prefecture and moved to Kagoshima in 2018. She used to hold baking classes, but it became difficult due to the pandemic. Nagata said, “Considering this, I decided to open a store with the encouragement of people around me.” The blue theme of the store was inspired by the sea, as Nagata grew up near the ocean in Kanagawa.

The main products are scones in plain and chocolate chip flavors, waffles, and chocolate muffins topped with chocolate cookies (220-300 yen). Banana Bread (250 yen per slice) made with four bananas, Terrine au Chocolat (980 yen), and Basque-style Cheesecake (330 yen per slice) are also available, and products change daily.

Nagata has set up a section in the store for beads and parts for handmade items. In June, she also began offering lemonade, ice packs, and cool bags and plans to start shaved ice after the rainy season. “I am a chatty person. I hope people will stop by for a chat,” she added.

Opening hours: 10:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (from 11:00 on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays). Closing days are notified via Instagram. Parking for three cars.
