Three months have passed since Iiyama Printemps, a shop specializing in boxed lunches and side dishes, opened in Ishiki, Kagoshima City.

Beeing LLC manages the shop. Its interior, created to be a “retro and mysterious space,” features old signboards, television, and lighting. Sunflowers and many wind chimes are hung from the ceiling along with lamps.

Bento lunches and side dishes are available for takeout only. All types of bento are priced at 500 yen. In addition to the standard items such as Sauce Chicken Katsu Bowl, Tender Chicken Breast Karaage, Rice Balls & Yakisoba, and Pork Miso Steak Tri-color Bowl, the chef sometimes adds additional items to the menu. During the summer months, Hiyashi Chuka (Cold Ramen) is also available.

Next to the bento corner is a section offering a selection of Dagashi, traditional Japanese snacks and sweets primarily aimed at children. Shirasawa, the sales representative, says: “We want people to enjoy the nostalgic moments from their childhood while picking up their bento. In the future, we plan to start offering pizza and delivery services. We also intend to introduce a food truck. We will keep you posted on our Instagram.”

Opening hours: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (or until sold out). Parking for three cars.
