Former nurse opens oracle card reading salon in Nishiishiki, Kagoshima
The session
Two months have passed since the oracle card reading salon Alla Luce opened in Nishiishiki, Kagoshima City.
Satoko Nishi, the owner, worked as a nurse for 19 years until she resigned this summer. She converted part of her house into a card-reading salon and opened the business in August. The name “Alla Luce” means “in the light” in Italian, expressing her belief that “each person can shine in his or her way.”
The oracle card reading session involves approximately 30-50 illustrated message cards, and the reader selects cards while listening to the concerns of the client. Nishi first encountered oracle cards three years ago and says, “I loved my job as a nurse, but my passion for oracle cards outweighed it. I decided to open my own business.” She also explains that the sessions are “an opportunity for people to find the answers if they feel unsure about who they are or if they have any doubts about what they want to do or what they like to do.” As a nurse, she provided end-of-life care and noticed that many patients asked themselves whether they could have lived their lives the way they wanted to. The experience also served as the motivation behind the opening of the salon.
The salon is equipped with approximately 20 sets of oracle cards, and several sets are used in a session. Some cards depict fairies and goddesses, and “it is fun just to look at them,” says Nishi. At the end of each session, Nishi provides a photo of all the cards that appeared in the reading. Prices are 3,500 yen for a 60-minute session, 5,000 yen for 90 minutes, and 7,000 yen for 120 minutes.
Reading sessions are by appointment only. Currently, many sessions are conducted online, and some clients use the service from outside the prefecture. Nishi added, “The answer is within you. I hope I can help you remember them and reconfirm them.”
Opening hours: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays).
