First US-brand sports bike specialty store in Kagoshima opens in Tenpozan
Store manager Koudai Adachi welcoming customers
November 23 marks two months since the opening of the TREK Bicycle Kagoshima Tenpozan Branch, a sports bike specialty store near the Tenpozan intersection in Kagoshima City.
The store is directly managed by Trek Japan based in Hyogo Prefecture, a Japanese subsidiary of the American bicycle manufacturer Trek. The Tenpozan Branch is the 29th store in Japan, following the opening of two stores in Fukuoka Prefecture in Kyushu. The company decided to open its first outlet in Kagoshima on September 23, hoping that residents enjoy the natural beauty of Kagoshima by bicycle.
The store has a floor space of 298 square meters. It carries a wide range of sports bikes, including cross bikes, mountain bikes, and road bikes, ranging in price from approximately 50,000 yen to over 1 million yen. It also has a section for electric sports bikes and kids’ bikes, with about 100 in stock at any given time. Some products are available for test rides.
The store also offers cycling accessories, including bicycle parts, helmets, and shoes. Directly-managed store-only shirts and hoodies are also available.
Koudai Adachi, store manager, says: “We have everything a new cyclist needs. In Kagoshima, where there are many hills, we can recommend e-bikes. We hope people can find the perfect bike for their needs at our store.”
Opening hours: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Closed on Tuesdays (open if Tuesday is a national holiday). The parking lot is shared with the gym on the second floor and holds 25 cars.
