Meshiya Park 108 (Towa) in Matsumoto, Kagoshima City (Kamitaniguchicho, Kagoshima City, Phone: 080-4276-8108), introduced weekday café hours starting on November 14.
The restaurant relocated from Kamoike to a newly built location within a 6-minute walk from JR Satsumamatsumoto Station this May. Yoichi Onimaru, the owner, said, “I had always wanted to open a restaurant in the suburbs.” The total area of the property is 1,650 square meters. In addition to 16 table seats and six counter seats, it has terrace seats and loft seats that can accommodate up to four people.
The restaurant used to open every night but has decided to open only on Friday and Saturday evenings. As an alternative, it has established new café hours from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. after lunch on weekdays. During the café hours, it offers desserts such as Cheesecake, baked with slices of lemon on top; Gâteau au Chocolat; and Matsumoto Matcha Terrine. Coffee brewed with beans roasted by Coffee Izumi in Kishaba is also served. In the future, a cake store Petit is scheduled to open inside the restaurant.
The lunch menu includes 108 Plate Lunch (1,500 yen), which changes every two weeks, and 108 Luxurious Set (2,500 yen, reservation required), prepared with seasonal vegetables, as well as set meals such as Karaage Set, Chicken Nanban Set, and Fish Set.
Onimaru added, “In the future, we want to make the garden space into a park where people can enjoy having barbeques. We also plan to create a place for garden weddings.”
Opening hours: 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays). Closed on Mondays and also on Sundays once a month.
