Specialty sandwich shop opens in Kagoshima – Including menu overseen by female Hotel Lexton chefs
Inside N
N (enu), a specialty sandwich shop, opened on the first floor of the Washington Hotel Plaza in Kagoshima’s Tenmonkan on April 26.
Chefs at the Hotel Lexton Kagoshima, operated by Nishikawa Sea & Land Transport, played central roles in devising and opening the shop. Uchida Eri, the Manager and Kitchen Leader of the shop, says, “At N, our female chefs, who have worked in Lexton’s fine dining restaurant and high-end ryotei restaurants, showcase their culinary skills.” The same staff also planned the interior design, concepts, and structure of the shop. The shop has six tables and four counter seats.
The menu includes Dashi Maki Tamago Sandwich (350 yen) with Japanese rolled omelet; Niku Niku Sandwich (300 yen) with beef, carrot namul (Korean-style salad), and Korean lettuce in a special sauce; and Pain au Gratin Set (800 yen) with several kinds of cheese. All the food items feature bread, which was made under the supervision of the Hotel Lexton, and its menu consists of the collaboration menu with ingredients curated by the hotel’s head chef and the original menu planned by the female staff.
In addition to sandwiches, N offers desserts such as Pan de Cake (500 yen), chocolate cake made with Shima no Napoleon (brown sugar shochu from Amami Oshima), and Seasonal Parfait (900 yen). “We are currently experimenting with different kinds of special fruit juices for each season,” Uchida added.
“We want to make it a place where people can stop by in their spare time and feel at home, even if they are visiting us alone.”
