Grilled meat restaurant Meat House En-ou opens in Kagoshima: ‘Comfortable for women’

On August 11, Meat House En-ou, a yakiniku restaurant that specializes in grilled meat dishes, opened near Kagoshima University Faculty of Agriculture.

The concept of the restaurant is “a place where women can dine alone comfortably.” It has 40 seats in total, including counter seats, table seats, kotatsu (Japanese-style heated table) seats, and private rooms. In addition to table and private-room seating areas, each counter seat is equipped with a smokeless roaster and ventilation duct, making it “easy for a single customer to enjoy the meal alone.”

The restaurant uses A5-grade Japanese Black beef, which is kept fresh at minus 60 degrees Celsius. The beef menu includes Short Ribs (1,880 yen), Tongue (1,780 yen), and Omasum (480 yen). Other items on the menu include Kurobuta pork, Jidori chicken, and seafood such as shrimp, squid, and scallops.

Takeout is also available, with dishes such as Beef Tongue Rice Bowl with scallions and salt (980 yen), Beef Skirt Steak Rice Bowl (780 yen), and Salted Pork Rib Rice Bowl (550 yen). Dak Galbi with Cheese (750 yen), Pork Kimchi Rice Bowl with Soft-boiled Egg (660 yen), and Chicken and Egg Rice Bowl (580 yen) have been added to the menu since August.

Opening hours: 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Closed on Mondays (open on national holidays and the day before holidays).
